Grand opening Thursday shows off 13,000 Square Foot Complex in Meadville, Mississippi; Home for C Spire’s Bill Rendering Operations and Telepak Network’s Customer Care Call Center

Meadville, Miss. (April 26, 2012) – C Spire Wireless and Telepak Networks, Inc. today unveiled a new $3 million complex in Meadville, Mississippi that is home to some critical operations for both high-technology companies.

Executives from both firms and parent company Telapex, Inc. hosted an open house, ribbon cutting and tours of the new 13,000 square foot complex for community leaders, Mississippi business executives and elected officials who represent Franklin County at all levels of government. The building is located at 240 Main Street in Meadville.

“We have a long, rich history and tradition of investment in Franklin County and south Mississippi,” said Wesley Goings, vice president of Telapex, Inc., the parent company of C Spire Wireless and Telepak Networks. “We’re proud of our latest contributions to the economic development and growth of this region.” Telapex also owns and operates Franklin Telephone Co., a rural local phone company that provides a range of telecommunications services in 19 Mississippi counties.

Goings, who supervised the construction project, said C Spire Wireless, the largest privately held wireless provider in the U.S., occupies approximately half of the complex for its multi-million dollar customer billing operations and Telepak Networks, a full-service provider of internet, telecommunications and network services, uses the remainder of the building for its customer care call center.

C Spire prints and mails an average of 310,000 bills and 35,000 letters a month as part of its customer billing operations unit in the building. The company houses $2.5 million in billing equipment for its operations, including an inserter and three large high-capacity printers, Goings said.

Business and government leaders praised the company’s decision to build the new complex for both companies in Franklin County. “The Telapex family of companies are great corporate citizens and continue to invest in the economic future of south Mississippi,” said Cliff Brumfield, president of the Southwest Partnership, a 10-county consortium of economic developers, business executives and local and state officials. “A healthy economy and quality of life is dependent on jobs and growth and these companies are helping to make that a reality for this region.”

“Expansion of these company operations is good news for Meadville and Franklin County,” said Brad Jones, president of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. “We really appreciate the investments these companies continue to make in our community and in our people.”
